Study Task 3 -  Animation Analysis Research

Animal Farm (1954)

Eric Arthur Blair was an English author of Animal Farm. Describing his novels by 'understandable prose, awareness of social injustice, opposition to totalitarianism, and outspoken support of democratic socialism.'

Focusing on visual analysis of animations, using technical terminology, and providing the relevant skills and knowledge to complete the second written piece of the module.

Animal farm is a production of symbolism appealed through a cartoon of life under ruling powers.

I find the meaning behind this animated film is to educate of the corruption in leaders and the insight and action onto their actions, teaching that in looks like to be deceived by propaganda and the devices and messages of tyrant leaders.

Napoleon the pig who emerges as the leader of Animal Farm after the Rebellion is represented directly associated as Joseph Stalin, and his uses of military force (his nine loyal attack dogs) to intimidate the other animals and consolidate his power.

"Four legs good, two legs bad" The character, Napoleon created expressed his hatred for the humans into an easy-to-remember slogan created by the sheep of the farm in the film.

This line represents the propaganda-driven culture of the Soviet Union, with its slogans, posters, songs, and marches with no substance behind them. George Orwell uses sheep to deliver this line in the book because of their traditional stupidity and the fact that they'll follow anyone, teaching how tyrants can control us as metaphoric puppets if we follow without intuition or cause.

LECTURE 3, History of the image
The influence of imagery and how it effects the aspirations of the target audience, these techniques are sometimes tainted with nationalist messages.
